The
River Jordan Nr. Jericho
The
river Jordan, the only artery which never ceases to irrigate
the land, rises on the snow-covered slopes of Mount Hermon in
Syria. The banks of the river are still green and fertile in
its upper reaches. Its total fall is some 3,000 feet. When it
flows through the Lake of Galilee, it is already 700 feet below
sea level.
