THE GATE OF THE SUN
Figures engraved on the Gate of the Sun. Some
investigators of these figures have suggested that ancient counterparts
of modern inventions may be seen in these (and other) survivals
of antiquity, pointing out that the eye motif of the figure
on the left looks like a deep sea diver or an astronaut, while
the eye motif of the bird-like figure on the right resembles
a jet-propelled vehicle.
