THE LADY SENNUY

The Lady Sennuy. Middle Kingdom, Twelfth Dynasty, c. 1991-1778 BC. Grey granite. H. 66in. (167 cm). Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Sennuy’s husband, Prince Hapijedfai, was governor of Kerma in Nubia during the reign of Sesostris I. This statue, found in his tomb, is of a quality which shows the influence of court workshops.
